Mountain View Safaris & Tourism is located in the majestic and breath-taking Loskop Valley just north of the well-known Loskop Dam and a mere two hours from Johannesburg and Pretoria. This is a malaria free area with a subtropical climate, summer rainfall and year-round perfect weather!
Our guests can expect to share in the abundance of vibrant birdlife and exciting wildlife on the property including a large variety of rare feathered and furry residents like our resident pair of Brown Hyenas. The general topography of the area and the fact that we have been blessed with an almost even split between mountains and plains result in an exceptional aesthetically pleasing experience for all our visitors due to the wide variety of habitats present.
The greater Mountain View stretches over 5 properties and we can accommodate 50 guests at our 4 lodges namely Mountain View Lodge, Rooikrans Lodge, Mountain Top Lodge and our Bush Camp.

The main LODGE
Our main lodge, Mountain View Lodge, offers nine tastefully furnished double rooms, a kitchen and dining area, a lounge and bar area with a full sized snooker table, a lapa and pool area with a sparkling swimming pool, a bar, table tennis table, a pool table with a cosy boma and fireplace. There is DStv at the bar for the enthusiastic sport follower.
This makes Mountain View Safaris & Tourism the perfect destination for the dedicated hunter looking for that elusive trophy animal, the occasional hunter looking for a relaxing bush experience with his friends and family, or the nature lover looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of daily city life.
Our Premium Room have air-conditioning and our Standard Rooms all have ceiling fans.
OUR NEW BUSH CAMP
Our Bush Camp offers one elevated ensuite room with a large elevated private balcony, two standard double ensuite rooms, and for the more adventurous or younger guests two safari tents with “ensuite” open air facilities.
This is perfect for friends or families looking for a more basic, intimate and closer to nature experience set at the foot of the majestic Genadeberg.
The Ultimate
LOCATION
This area has an annual average minimum temperature of 14°C and an average maximum temperature of 28 °C. Summers can be hot, with temperatures sometimes exceeding 35°C. Winters are mild and pleasant, with the mercury seldom falling below 0°C at night time.
Mountain View’s close proximity to Loskop Dam, the Olifants River and Kranspoort also afford our guests the opportunity the try their hand at fishing for a number of sought-after freshwater species including bream and black bass while taking in the sunset from our pontoon boat, visiting Forever Loskop Dam for a visit to their heated pool or other amenities, or a round of golf with friends at Kranspoort.
